Terms of Service

MovieBowls is operated by Matthew Mandarano in North Carolina, United States. These terms govern the free beta. Contact m_mandarano@yahoo.com with questions. Registration and continued account access require your agreement to these terms and acknowledgement of the Privacy Policy.
Who can join
You must be at least 18 and reside in the United States. Provide an email you control, confirm it, and keep your sign-in information secure. You may use a display name; do not impersonate someone else. This beta is offered for personal, noncommercial movie-night planning.
How the service works
Members suggest movies, share comments, and select a movie through a contributor-first random draw. MovieBowls does not stream films or grant rights to exhibit them. You obtain any film or streaming access separately. Availability information can change and is not guaranteed.
Private bowls are shared with their members. Public-bowl summaries are discoverable by other eligible signed-in users, and hosts approve membership requests. Hosts can manage membership, remove comments and queued films, and change visibility. A shared rating may be changed by another bowl member.
Responsible use
Do not post unlawful, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, sexually exploitative, confidential, or infringing material. Do not send unwanted invitations, collect other members’ information for unrelated purposes, impersonate others, evade limits, scrape personal information, or attempt unauthorized access. Only invite people you reasonably expect would welcome the invitation.
Report abusive content, unwanted invitations, suspected child accounts, copyright concerns, or security issues through Help & privacy. Include enough information to identify the issue without unnecessarily disclosing private content. We may remove content or restrict accounts to protect people, enforce these terms, or comply with law.
Your content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give the operator permission to store, display, and process it as needed to provide MovieBowls according to your bowl settings, respond to support requests, and protect the service. You are responsible for having the right to submit it. This permission does not authorize selling your personal information or using your private comments in advertising.
Deletion and leaving
You can remove your queued movies, leave bowls you do not own, download your contributions, or delete your account. Deleting a bowl or its owner’s account deletes that bowl’s shared contents for everyone. Watch history in other people’s bowls may remain without the deleted account’s identifiers. Review the deletion warning and download anything you need first. We may retain limited records as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Third-party materials
Movie data, posters, and availability information come from third parties and remain subject to their rights. TMDB and JustWatch attribution appears in Credits. Original MovieBowls materials and third-party software remain subject to their applicable intellectual-property rights and licenses. Nothing here limits rights you have under an open-source license or applicable law.
Availability and limits
The beta is free and provided as available. Features, usage limits, or access may change, pause, or end. Free hosting services may experience downtime. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or preservation of all content. We will not charge you without a separate, explicit agreement.
Responsibility and applicable law
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties, and the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by use or unavailability of the beta. These terms do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. North Carolina law governs to the extent permitted by applicable law. Contact us first if a problem arises so we can try to resolve it.
Changes and contact
Material changes will be presented in the app with updated terms and, where appropriate, a request for renewed agreement. If you do not agree, stop using the service; you can request your data or deletion through m_mandarano@yahoo.com.
